World Mobile, in partnership with Protelindo, is launching World Mobile Stratospheric, a blockchain-enabled 5G network using hydrogen-powered drones at 60,000 feet. Covering 15,000 sq km per drone with 6ms latency, it’s 18 times cheaper than satellite systems. Facing technical and regulatory challenges, it competes with Helium Mobile and Starlink to serve underserved areas.
